3HB Clube Humbria Review (Family Stay Experience)
Travelling with children is never easy. Meals, naps, sudden hunger, and absolutely no predictable schedule can turn even a simple holiday into a logistical puzzle.
That’s exactly why an all-inclusive resort makes so much sense when you’re travelling with small kids.
Last year, we decided to explore the 3HB Algarve resort in Portugal, and overall, it turned out to be a very solid family stay.
First Impressions: Spacious but Not Overwhelming
The resort is quite large, but it never feels like one of those massive, overwhelming complexes. The buildings are spread out and only 3–4 floors high, which helps keep everything feeling open and relaxed.
One of the biggest positives is space. Even during busy periods, we never felt like we had to rush in the morning to reserve sunbeds (“espreguiçadeiras”) or fight for a good spot near the pool.
That alone already makes a huge difference when travelling with kids.
Pools & Water Areas
The resort offers three main pool areas:
- A large central pool
- A dedicated kids’ pool right next to it
- A water slides area for older kids (typically over 6 years old and taller than 1.20m)
The main pool is where most of the action happens, but the kids’ areas are what really make the difference for families.
Having everything close together means parents can relax while still keeping an eye on the children.
Food & Dining Experience
Food was mixed overall.
Some days were genuinely excellent, especially themed nights like sushi or BBQ, which really stood out. On other days, it was more average.
Being in Portugal, expectations for food are naturally quite high, so the bar is already set pretty far up.
There’s always food available throughout the day, which is extremely convenient with kids. You’re never stuck wondering where or when to eat.
That said, if you’re staying here, I’d strongly recommend stepping out for at least one dinner in the nearby town. It breaks up the routine and gives you a taste of local Algarve food culture.

Entertainment & Kids Activities
Evenings were simple but effective.
There were regular small events like bingo nights and mini fairs with balloons, popcorn, and cotton candy (“algodão doce”). Nothing overly flashy, but perfect for young kids.
During the day and night, the resort also offers:
- Magic shows
- Inflatable play areas
- Water park access
- Cotton candy machines
The kids’ entertainment really does its job here.
Games Room & Extra Facilities
There is a small arcade-style games room (“salão de jogos”) with retro machines.
Unfortunately, this area felt a bit outdated and not very well maintained. Some machines were broken, and the space itself is quite small.
That said, the kids didn’t care at all! They still had fun, which is what matters most.
There is also a “share box” where guests leave behind items they don’t need anymore, like buckets, books, or beach umbrellas. It’s a small touch, but quite a nice idea.
If you like football (soccer) there is also a 5x5 field that you can use.
The gym feels too dark and small.
Atmosphere & Sleep Quality
One of the most underrated positives of this resort is the atmosphere.
It is quiet, relaxed, and very family-oriented. We didn’t see any drunk behaviour, and there was no noticeable noise at night.
We slept very well throughout the entire stay, which is not always guaranteed in all-inclusive resorts.
Parking & Practical Notes
There is parking available inside the resort, but we weren’t able to park directly in front of our room.
This meant carrying luggage up three levels, which is not ideal when travelling with kids and bags.
Not a deal-breaker, but something worth knowing in advance.
What We Liked Most
- Good food overall (especially themed nights like sushi and BBQ)
- Very helpful staff (they accommodated our request for a quiet room for Júlia)
- Strong kids’ entertainment (magic shows, inflatables, water slides, cotton candy)
- Plenty of sunbeds available
- Calm and relaxed environment
What Could Be Improved
- Some areas feel a bit neglected (gym and games room)
- Apartments, especially bathrooms, feel slightly dated
Final Thoughts
This is not a luxury resort, but it doesn’t try to be.
What it does well is family comfort: space, safety, predictable routines, and enough entertainment to keep kids happy without overwhelming parents.
